West Vancouver Island’s Best Kept Secret
Macktush Creek Campground is one of the last truly best kept secrets. Located at the mouth of Macktush Creek, on the northern shore of the Inlet, the campsite evolved around the Bill Motyka Recreational Area, and provides a semi-rugged camping experience, smack In the middle of sockeye fishing territory.
The campsite is a 30-km drive from Port Alberni along Canel Main. It’s the only motor route where you can access the north shore of the Inlet, which also takes you to Arden Creek, Nahmint Lake, Gracie Lake and the back side of Sproat Lake. There are 130 campsites, which can accommodate anything from tents through the largest of fifth-wheelers and recreational vehicles.
The campsite boasts a playground, hot running showers, store (sundry items), 2 boat ramps, clean pit toilets, available water throughout the campsite. There is no power (cash only payment) and is a garbage-in, garbage-out campsite.
