About Bob Meyer

Captain Bob Meyer is a legendary Strait of Georgia charter skipper, community conservationist, and long-time contributor for Island Fisherman Magazine. A Gabriola Island resident since 1970, he founded and operated Silver Blue Charters for more than 35 years, logging over 3,500 guided trips across Nanaimo, Silva Bay, Thrasher Rock, and the Gulf Islands. Former organizer of the historic Silva Bay Fishing Derby and co-founder of the Anchor RAGE marine stewardship initiative, Bob writes extensively on Gabriola tidal structure, bottom bouncing mechanics, spoons vs. plugs, and Pacific salmon conservation.
