About Tom Davis

Tom Davis is a veteran Pacific Northwest angler and tackle industry innovator with more than 45 years of experience in British Columbia sportfishing. The former owner and president of Rhys Davis Ltd., he played a defining role in popularizing bait-holder trolling systems, including the Anchovy Special and Bullet Roll. Based in Victoria with the Juan de Fuca Strait as his home waters, Tom has represented the recreational fishery on the Sport Fishing Advisory Board (SFAB) and Pacific Salmon Commission committees for over 30 years. His writing for Island Fisherman Magazine focuses on marine salmon conservation, fisheries policy, and tactical saltwater rigging.
