About Wesley Greentree

Wesley Greentree is a fisheries ecologist, PhD researcher in the Juanes Lab at the University of Victoria, and science contributor for Island Fisherman Magazine. Working in partnership with the Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF), the British Columbia Conservation Foundation, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), he leads research under the Adult Salmon Diet Program and the Bottlenecks to Survival Project. Wesley specializes in acoustic telemetry tracking of juvenile and resident Chinook salmon, otolith microchemistry, and forage fish dynamics across the Salish Sea. His writing translates complex marine food-web science into practical insights for anglers, focusing on Pacific herring migrations, seasonal feeding shifts, and salmon conservation.
