About Will Duguid

Dr. Will Duguid (M.Sc., Ph.D.) is a senior fisheries biologist with the Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF), former postdoctoral researcher in the Juanes Lab at the University of Victoria, and science contributor for Island Fisherman Magazine. A lifelong salmon angler and former tidal fishing guide, he founded and directs the British Columbia Adult Salmon Diet Program, mobilizing recreational anglers to study Chinook and Coho prey dynamics across the Salish Sea. Dr. Duguid also leads the winter marine ecology component of the PSF and British Columbia Conservation Foundation’s Bottlenecks to Survival initiative, pioneering microtrolling sampling techniques and researching early marine survival, juvenile growth rates, and ocean forage communities.
