Learn to Fly Fish on Vancouver Island Course 2026

Dates: May 9 to 12, 2026

Hosted by: Mid Island Castaways Fly Fishing Club

• May 9 & 10: Little Qualicum Hall (8:30 AM)
• May 11: Stream Ecology at Little Qualicum Fish Hatchery (5:30 PM)
• May 12: Fly Casting Lesson at Sports Field (6:00 PM)

Course Description: This comprehensive course is designed for anyone interested in learning to fly fish or anglers new to the Vancouver Island region. By the end of the course, students will understand local fish species, master essential knots, and learn the fundamentals of fly casting.

Equipment: None required—fly rods are supplied!

Cost: $75 (Club membership required).
