The 6th annual Hard Core Salmon Derby 2026 is officially returning to Zeballos, BC. This high-stakes event brings the angling community together for two days of world-class fishing in the rugged waters of Nootka Sound.

Participants in this year’s derby are competing for a massive prize pool. The event features a $2,500 cash grand prize and an all-inclusive Mexico trip auction. Every ticket purchased includes a fully catered dinner, making it a highlight of the 2026 fishing calendar.

Beyond the competition, we are proud to support the Nootka Sound Watershed Society. Last year, our participants helped raise over $25,000 to protect local salmon stocks and ensure the future of the fishery for generations to come.
Official Rules and Logistics
To participate in the Hard Core Salmon Derby 2026, all anglers must follow DFO regulations. The weigh-in station is located at the Reel Obsession dock, and all fish must be presented in the round. With a firm 100-rod cap, we recommend registering early to secure your spot in the fleet.
- Entry Cost: $140 per rod.
- Dates: June 12-13, 2026.
- Hidden Weight: Coho prizes are available both days of the event.
