A family and community event for everyone with lots of child friendly activities: Live releases by the kids of our Coho smolts to the creek, “fish printing” with real mature Coho (carcasses) to cover with poster paints and wrap in paper for a take-home picture, face painting, meeting a live owl and time with stream life —lots of different bugs— live in trays. Booths from Vancouver Island environmental, recycling, enhancement, government agency and NGO groups for grown-ups, volunteers in other groups, day trippers. Live release of 20,000 clipped hatchery Coho smolts at 3 pm. We have a tradition of family-friendly pricing on our fast food–fries, hot dogs, burgers, etc. (BBQ oysters TBA depending on health regulations) with lots of seating. Live music by the Ryder Bachman trio, and a country atmosphere on our enhancement site with guided tours and friendly vibes. No charge for admission, very reasonably priced souvenir Tees and caps, and lots of handouts from exhibitors. Find us off Highway 19 via Cook Creek Exit to 19A, 2 km N toward Fanny Bay.
