Sons of Salmon: An Initiative to Support Hatcheries on Vancouver Island

It’s no secret that Island Fisherman Magazine supports hatcheries. We create awareness through editorial, promote programs that support fundraising like derbies, and donate directly from our own revenue. However, there’s only so much we can do alone.

Because of uncertainty, we’ve seen some derbies suspend their early season activities that generate much needed funds. That’s why proceeds from 2020’s ‘merch’ (hoodies, T-shirts, and stickers) will go to local hatcheries on Vancouver Island.
