Our annual contest, “Name That Lure” published in the January/February 2025 issue (and online) of Island Fisherman magazine is over and the results are in!
How tackle is named can be as historic (or funny) as naming a boat, and we love to see who the top tackle junkies out there every year. To do that, we pick a list of tackle and come up with a multiple choice list of names for each lure. People can play as many times as they like, but only one entry per person that achieves 100% gets entered into our annual draw.
This year, 2,912 people took the quiz, but only 167 unique entries (6%) qualified for the draw, by getting 100%. From there, we randomly picked the winners —here they are:
