About James Costello

Captain James Costello is a certified tidal angling guide, manager of the Thornton Creek Hatchery in Ucluelet, and regional contributor for Island Fisherman Magazine. Combining commercial charter experience as co-owner of Maximum Coastal Adventures with front-line Pacific salmon enhancement leadership, James oversees broodstock collection, smolt rearing, and PIT-tag enumeration across west coast Vancouver Island watersheds. His writing provides boots-on-the-ground expertise on offshore chinook salmon behavior, Barkley Sound halibut structure, coastal conservation, and watershed stewardship.
